Ausra began her competitive swimming career in Lithuania at the age of five. She continued swimming through high school and college and was a member of the Lithuanian Olympic swim team. Her experience includes coaching positions for over 30 years in both Europe and the United States. Ausra also worked as a Physical Education teacher at Long Ridge School in North Stamford for many years.
Several of Ausra’s swimmers have qualified for USA National and Junior National meets, and have achieved collegiate All – American status. Locally, Ausra previously coached the Darien Piranhas Swim Club and Convent of Sacred Heart High School.
Ausra now works as the Director of Aquatics at the IC and oversees, guides, and directs the Orcas throughout their season.
